About me

Melissa Faulkner
Professional member, Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd)

I’m a Melbourne-based freelance editor, whose main focus areas are humanities, business and select education projects. I’ve vast experience dealing with academics, business leaders, creatives and multi-skilled teams based in Melbourne, Sydney and international cities.

My editorial training began at Melbourne University Press, specialising in illustrated books and academic titles, and I continue to work on histories, memoirs, art books and cultural studies.

The business content I proof and edit is generally for Annual Reports and related company publications.

I’ve been a project editor for Lonely Planet travel publications, preparing visual material and written content with global teams, and I coordinated one of the company’s largest and most complex guidebooks. My recent teamwork includes digital products for RMIT Online, completing MBA course subjects and training modules for external corporate clients.

I’ve also worked on cultural and exhibition projects for London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts, ACMI, the Australian Museum, National Museum of Australia, Powerhouse and the State Library of New South Wales.
