About me
I’m a freelance editor based in Melbourne.
I’ve been in teams of large organisations including Lonely Planet Travel Publications, RMIT Online and Mojo MDA Advertising, and boutique publishers such as Melbourne University Press, digital communication agencies and cultural institutions, such as the Institute for Contemporary Arts in London, for almost thirty years. These have been in-house roles as well as freelance work.
Whether the project at hand is an illustrated book with lush production qualities, an annual reporting suite for shareholders, a digital university course, an academic text or cultural history, I work closely with authors and production teams to make sure the structure and content is clear.
My editorial training is supported by three degrees in professional writing and editing, and cultural management. I’ve worked in-house with exceptionally talented publishing staff at many companies to develop skills in editing, proofreading, design layout checks, manuscript assessment and indexing. Through the Institute of Professional Editors, I’ve also mentored emerging editors.
I love collaborating with all sorts of experts in health, museum content, business insights, history, education and storytelling.
I have regular client work, but I’m available for select editing and proofreading projects.
