I relish writing and editing.
I work for publishers, the arts and business. Penguin Random House, MYOB and a brief stint in London at the Institute for Contemporary Arts are some of the highlights.
I was mentored in the careful art of academic editing and saw stunning, illustrated histories come to life at Melbourne University Press.
Lonely Planet trained me in the skills of international publishing. I shaped clear, concise information to help people travel efficiently and see beyond the myths of how places are portrayed. Europe on a Shoestring with over 40 authors was a star in the publishing list, and I was lucky to be its project editor.
Education publishing is now my niche. Every project requires nimbleness to keep up with new processes and content treatment. The joy of reading specialist knowledge by interesting authors is my favourite aspect.
Helping authors convey what they mean in their fiction manuscripts is also what I do.
I have business communications clients too, where I check short online pieces and annual reports.
My formal qualifications include a BA in Professional Writing and Literature, Postgraduate Diploma in English and an MA in Arts Management.
I am a professional member of Editors NSW, a branch of the national group of professional editors, IPEd.
If you need your project edited or proofread, contact me with the details.
I can provide writing services as well.
